The Denver Post, and everyone tied to Colorado athletics, is reporting that Butch Jones has accepted the job as the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes. Jones said this afternoon at the Belk Bowl press conference in Charlotte that a decision would be made soon. And it was. He met with UC officials yesterday and today, but that doesn't seem to have worked out well for Cincinnati.
The reports seem to say it's not 100% locked down. But there has been word that John Elway, Peyton Manning and John Fox were used by Colorado to entice Jones to taking the job.
The players don't seem to know what's happening, so there is that bit of news. More on this as it develops.
More has developed. Pete Thamel at SI dropped this bomb on us.
That doesn't mean he won't take the job. It could just mean he hasn't yet.
Football Scoop is saying this
So what's happening?
